Engraving, part of 'Omnium pene Europae, Asiae, Aphricae atque Americae Gentium Habitus' (Costumes of the various nations of Europe, Asia, Africa and America), a series of prints representing figures from various parts of the world, engraved by Abraham de Bruyn and published by Joos de Bosscher in 1580.

This engraving represents a Spanish taborer, a Spanish legionary piper, a military prefect, called Vocant, and a Spanish carrier of the sign. On the left, the taborer wears a striped doublet with braid-trimmed sleeves, ruff and ruffled cuffs, and wide hose with small slashes, stockings and flat shoes. He wears a band with patterns of lozenges and fringed edges tied diagonally across his chest, and carries a drum hanging from his left shoulder. He has a long mustache with scrolling tips and wears a striped hat with feathers.

The piper, on the center-left, wears a striped jubon over a doublet with long puff sleeves with small slashes and ruffled cuffs, a ruff, and paned hose, stockings and flat shoes. He wears a hat with a band with a chevron pattern and a bundle of feathers. He has a short beard and mustache, and is playing the flute. He carries a sword, hanging from a belt, on his left hip.

The prefect, on the center-right, wears an armor with scrolling motifs and matching helmet, with a large bundle of feathers, a ruff, paned hose over long wide hose, stockings and flat shoes. He has a band with stripes and fringed edges tied diagonally across his chest, and carries a sword on his left hip. He holds a halberd on his left hand.

On the right, the bearer of the sign wears a striped jubon over a doublet with long puff sleeves with ruffled cuffs, a ruff, padded hose, stockings and flat shoes, with a band tied diagonally across his chest. He has a short beard and mustache, and wears a puffed hat with a bundle of feathers. He carries a sword hanging from his belt on his left hip and carries a flag on his right shoulder.
