Engraving, part of 'Omnium pene Europae, Asiae, Aphricae atque Americae Gentium Habitus' (Costumes of the various nations of Europe, Asia, Africa and America), a series of prints representing figures from various parts of the world, engraved by Abraham de Bruyn and published by Joos de Bosscher in 1580.

This engraving represents four women of Perano: a girl from a noble family, a Christian woman, an older woman, and a pregnant noblewoman. On the left, the girl wears an ankle-length dress with a pattern of scrolling leaves and long, wide sleeves with stripes. She wears a thin belt with beads, two necklaces, the shorter one holding a large pendant, and a cuff on each wrist. Her hair is long and loose, and she wears a hat with a double, crossed band with beads, flanked with a sort of palmette on the back. She wears stockings and flat shoes.

The Christian woman wears a long-sleeved dress with striped bodice and sleeves, an open, pleated overskirt with a pattern of lozenges on the border, over an underskirt with a pattern of scrolling leaves, and border made up of a stripe with lozenges between two strips of pearls. The collar, sleeves and bustline are trimmed with embellished ribbons; from the bustline hang two triangular nets, each with a tassel on the point, under which she hides her hands. Her hair is long and loose, and she wears a hat without brim and with a pattern of lozenges on the border, with hanging pearls. On her neck she wears a chocker with a pendant and a pearl necklace.

The older woman wears a headscarf over her upper body and an overcoat with wide bell-sleeves, over an ankle-length dress with long sleeves, stockings and flat shoes. Her hair is helpd up, completely covered by her scarf. She hides one hand inside a pocket and, in the other hand, she wears three rings.

On the right, the pregnant noblewoman wears a dress with patterns of scrolling leaves on the bodice and a pleated skirt with a border of lozenges and pearls. On her feet she wears stockings and flat shoes. Her long, loose hair is covered by a headscarf, which hangs on her shoulders and back. She wears a pearl necklace with a jeweled pendant, and carries a branch with leaves on one hand.
