Stadt Huys, New York, Built 1602, Razed 1700
View of the Dutch Stadt Huys in Manhattan similar to, but slightly larger than, an image used to illustrate John Fanning Watson's Historic Tales of Olden Time: Concerning the Early Settlement and Advancement of New-York City and State, 1832, opp. p. 192. Although long demolished, the Stadt Huys was included to illustrate the Dutch style of architecture, "having pediment walls in front and giving their gable ends to the street."
