Nouveau Liure de Placfond, Combined with Twelve Plates of Ceiling Designs from an Untitled Set, part of Œuvres du Sr. D. Marot
This volume includes a total of eighteen prints from three distinct sets with ceiling designs. Six plates are from the series "Nouveau Livre de Placfond" [30.4(31-35, 40)]. The other twelve plates seem to belong to two series, both published without titles. One of the series of six plates [30.4(24-28,30)] appears in the collected work of Marot, published by Pierre Husson in 1703. It is most likely the first set of ceilings, which Marot followed with the "Nouveau" designs. Of the remaining series of six untitled plates [(30.4(29, 36-39, 41)], two prints carry the date 1708, suggesting this set was a later addition.
