At left, King George stands next to his throne, holding out a scroll labelled "A Bill for the Independence of the Judges." Courtiers watch at left. At right, Queen Charlotte receives a decorated sheet from two women and two children, placing a hand on the shoulder of one child. Both scenes have oval frames adorned with leaves and flowers with lions and unicorns lying below. The edges of other paintings that Barry painted for the Society of Arts's Great Room appear at left and right.
