This print is bound in Volume I of Oeuvres. Jombert published his collection of Le Pautre in 1751. Volume I contains "desseins... pour la décoration des maisons, etouches, edifices;." This print is part is part of a series of six plates depicting grand bedrooms in the Roman style as settings for Biblical scenes and stories from Roman history. The series was published by Jean I Leblond, by Pierre II Mariette in 1667, and by Jombert in 1751.
