This print is bound in Volume IV of Oeuvres. Jombert published his collection of Le Pautre in 1751. Volume IV contains "desseins d'ornemens et trophées d'armes;" This print is part of a series of six plates depicting friezes intended for ornamenting architecture, cornices, and other architectural elements. The series was published by Jean Le Pautre, by Jean I Leblond, by Pierre II Mariette, and by Jombert in 1751.
