A view of the San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy. This print shows several row boats moored near a quai in the foreground with sailboats in the middleground and the sixteenth century Palladian Church of San Giorgio Maggiore in the distance at center.
The set of etchings in Northern Italy, 1894-96, is comprised of twenty-six subjects. Twenty-five sets were published by W.B. Paterson, Glasgow in 1896 in addition to a few seperate impressions. Some impressions vary greatly in the amount of ink left on unworked surfaces. This etching is number 10 in the North Italian set.
