The Palace of the Stuarts
This print shows Stirling Castle, home to Scottish royalty until the seventeenth century. To the right of the castle, Cameron included the towers of the Gatehouse which were built between 1501 and 1506. Stategically important, this castle guarded the lowest crosing point on the River Forth.
