Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains a design for a shawl made up of paisley leaves with bundles of semi-abstract exotic flowers, bordered with small, black, semi-abstract rosettes, and short, undulating garlands and thin bundles of semi-abstract exotic flowers and leaves. The design is executed with black ink on thin, light brown paper. The motifs in the design seem to have been inspired on Indian calicoes and were most likely intended for printed textiles or wallpapers, and were possibly manufactured with vivid colors.
