This print likely served as an illustration in a book on military strategy. It shows a fortified city on the right, with further defenses and an encampment towards the left side of the print. The different elements are numbered from 1 to 29, and a legend has been added to the right with the proper terminology of each element in French. The city itself is not identified and may represent an ideal scenario rather than an existing place.
