Plate 15 of a series of designs for doors and mantel pieces. This design presents a mantel piece. On the sides of the fireplace are the statues of a youth, on the left, and of an older woman on the right, acting as caryatids. Above it is a wavescroll and a figurative scene. Over this is a frieze of metops of rosettes. Above are putti holding garlands and torches and sitting on the backs of sphinxs. Between them is a vessel with goat heads and fire and at the very top a rounded pediment with a tympanum decorated with a quiver.
