Engraving, part of a set of 12 small, oval prints of varied subjects, representing scenes of Ancient Roman history or mythology, created by Étienne Delaune before 1573. This print depicts a king, his head flanked by a crown, carrying a man, possibly dead or severely injured, on his shoulders, surrounded by the tents of a military camp, and dead corpses lying on the ground. It is likely that the representation is of Achilles carrying the corpse of Patroclus or Ajax carrying the corpse of Achilles.
