Plate 26, Remains of the entrance of the Circus of Maxentius (previously called the Circus of Caracalla) with one large arch at center and a smaller arch at right. Additional ruins and groups of figures are visible through the central archway. Below this plate is an unnumbered image, titled "Partie d'un Bas relief antique qui represente une Province a Genoux en forme de Suppliante." Unlike most of the half-page image pairs in the volume, in this case the top plate with the view of the Roman monument is smaller than the unnumbered image below. The images appear facing page 36, a text page describing the Circus of Maxentius.
