Wilton album, folio 56g: The Virgin, reclining on the right, with the Child and the Infant Saint John the Baptist

1590–1660
Not on view
On folio 56 with six other prints: 27.78.1(188, 190-194)
For more information on the Wilton album see entry for 27.78.1(1-428)
A print by an unidentified etcher of the seventeenth century, possibly Bolognese or northern Italian. Included among the prints by Francesco Vanni in the Wilton Album, but seemingly part of a discrete group composed of 27.78.1(186,187,189,194).
An impression of this print at the British Museum is attributed to the Dutch painter and printmaker Bartholomeus Breenbergh (active in Rome 1619-1629), though its style and technique are quite distance from other known works by this artist. See British Museum (inv. no. S.6286)
