Proti 1908 světlo stává se
tvůrčím činitelem formy. Pod očima
bílý šedý reflex, a celá tvář v levo je
vyhloubená (co plastika.
Světlo není jednoduché, ale dle
rytmické potřeby. Odtud také barvy
jako už 1907‒08.
V celku rozklad ještě od formy
těla, struktury. V levo ovšem už
prolomen ten názor. Světlo realita
Krk též vyhlouben. Bělošedavý
útes.

V 1907 uvědomuje si, co je obraz
upouští literaturu a 1908 první
silná díla organická. V 1907 příliš
vnějšně dekorativní
Barva v 1907 je citlivější než 1901,
Kdy hlavně vliv [van] Gogh, nedá se bez
Matisse vysvětlit. (i jeho veselé
tony, plochy) než více tvrdá,
nepoddajná. Něco kovového nebo kamen-
ého má. Obrazy jako z drahokamů.
Barva nerespiruje. zůstává
v ploše. Vztahy jsou raffinované
jako 1905.
Často effekty až hrubé, barva
přímo z tuby. Je to animální
radost, jaká opět 1912.
Jako by se chtěl zbavit staré kultury,
k prvkům výrazným, liniím a
čistým barvám. (fauves)
Obraz má být čistý výraz estetických
tuh a umělý poměr linií a barev.
Vede ho k dekoraci co Matisse.
Ale pomalu roste jeho názor
až tu vyvstává skutečný obraz.
Pomocníkem je mu Cézanne.

Light isn’t simple, but according to
rhythmic need. Hence also colors
as in 1907‒08.
Overall decomposition still based on form
of body, structure. At left however now
that viewpoint ruptured. Light reality
Neck likewise hollowed out. White-gray
ridge.

In 1907 realizes what a picture is
abandons literature and 1908 first
strong organic works. In 1907 too
outwardly decorative
Color in 1907 is more sensitive than 1901,
when main influence [Van] Gogh, can’t
explain without Matisse. (even his cheerful
tones, surfaces) only more hard,
unyielding. Something metallic or stone-
like to it. Pictures as if from gemstones.
Color doesn’t breathe. remains
on surface. Relationships are sophisticated
like 1905.
Often results almost coarse, color
straight from the tube. It’s an animal
joy, again like 1912.
As if he were trying to shed the old culture,
toward distinct elements, lines and
pure colors. (fauves)
Picture intended as pure expression of aesthetic
desires and man-made relationship of lines and colors.
Leads him to decoration as in Matisse.
But slowly his viewpoint grows
until here a true picture emerges.
His aide in this is Cézanne.
